  • Interesting, but revealing infographic

This is a good, requirements-based, infographic, but it also reveals the limits of tablet technology. The tablet applications are relatively limited in scope, as compared to the notebook applications ("Information Technology" is pretty broad), and are strictly those where portability is a requirement. In short, tablets are only good when you have to be moving while using the app. There's no reason to use a tablet, in general, if you can be sitting. The "post-PC" talk, is just that; there's always going to be a strong need for full-scale PC's in the enterprise.

Need mobility and touch, use Metro or Metro IE when on the go. When you sit down, use a dock or attach a keyboard/mouse and use the desktop.

Rumors from inside Microsoft also suggests that you will soon be able to run desktop apps in Metro panes and Metro apps in desktop Windows, allowing you to cross use your applications regardless if on the go or sitting.
