Accenture and SAP have announced the creation of a new business group focused on rapidly accelerating the time it takes to jointly develop and deliver new industry-specific solutions based on cloud and other technologies.
The enterprise technology firms say that the new "Accenture and SAP Business Solutions Group" will bring together solution development, go-to-market teams and product research together to increasing time to value for clients globally.
The group will combine Accenture’s intellectual property and the SAP HANA Cloud Platform to quicken the pace for clients who wish to use cloud, analytics and enterprise mobility solutions. Accenture and SAP say the goal is to "significantly expedite" the joint-solution development process which brings industry solutions to market.
Eventually, the Accenture and SAP Business Solutions Group will offer enterprise solutions through a single-contract business services model and on an “as-a-service” basis.
In the beginning, the group will focus on retail and consumer goods, automotive, energy and utilities.
"We expect that this will be a game-changer that can go far beyond the traditional boundaries of how enterprise-grade software and platform companies and technology services companies collaborate, innovate and deliver solutions to the market today," said Marty Cole, group chief executive of Technology at Accenture. "By joining together our industry-leading assets and capabilities under this new business group, Accenture and SAP will be positioned to deliver unprecedented value to clients through more rapid access to integrated industry-specific SAP solutions."
