in brief The Australian Computer Society (ACS) is again searching for a new head as Bruce Lakin prepares to leave the organisation after a little more than a year as CEO.
The ACS today confirmed an ITNews report that it had started looking for a new CEO to replace Lakin after the executive's resignation. Lakin will leave the society in April 2011. Bruce had started as the CEO in November last year.
"Bruce leaves with our best wishes and our gratitude for his contribution to the society. He has achieved significant improvement in the operations of the society," ACS president Anthony Wong said.
The last CEO, Kim Denham, also had a brief tenure that ended in her being fired from the society. She subsequently sued the ACS, saying that there had been an understanding that she would serve longer in the role. The case was settled early this year.
