Paul Robson has been appointed as president of Adobe Asia Pacific, replacing Craig Tegel, who is leaving the company on July 1 after 17 years with the company.

Reporting to Matt Thompson, Adobe worldwide field operations executive vice president, in his new position, Robson will continue to be based in Adobe's Sydney headquarters, and oversee the company's operations in Australasia, Southeast Asia, Korea, India, and China.

"Adobe's business has transformed over the last four years and our Creative Cloud and Marketing Cloud businesses are now world-leading," Thompson said. "Our customers have responded with enthusiasm to our vision, and Craig has led extensive growth for Adobe in Asia Pacific. I thank him for his incredible contribution."

Adobe's saw first quarter earnings and revenue, reported earlier this year, came in at the high end of the company's expectations. It was driven by the additional 405,000 Creative Cloud subscriptions from a year ago, and an annualised recurring revenue approaching US$1 billion for its Creative business.

Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen said at the time that the company's new features to its Creative Cloud have been well received.

He also said that Adobe's marketing cloud, which many analysts argue is the best in the industry, was gaining traction.

"When we look at it big picture we just continue to see great awareness, good traction with all of our solutions, people adopting the new solutions rather than point products," Narayen said.

Robson will commence his role effective immediately, while Tegel works with him to ensure a smooth transition occurs, Thompson said.

Robson joined Adobe in November 2012 as managing director for Australia and New Zealand. Since May 2013, Robson has led Adobe's enterprise sales function across Australia and New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and Korea.

Before joining Adobe, Robson was the vice president and general manager for HP's networking division across Asia Pacific and Japan.
