Adobe to release Acrobat, Reader updates

Summary: On Tuesday, about the time that Microsoft issues its Patch Tuesday Windows updates, Adobe will release new versions of Reader and Acrobat.

Taking another page from Microsoft's book, Adobe has issued a Prenotification Security Advisory for Adobe Reader and Acrobat.

On Tuedsay, Adobe will release new versions of Reader and Acrobat for Windows and Mac. The new version will address one or more critical vulnerabilities in the software.

The affected versions are Reader and Acrobat X 10.1.11 and earlier and Reader and Acrobat XI 11.0.08.

    Adobe releases a new version of Acrobat Reader every 10-15 minutes. Along with Firefox it seems to have a new version to install every time it starts. It must be the most heavily updated 1-trick pony around.

    OK that's hyperbole, but still, considering how narrow the feature-set is it sure does need a lot of patching.

      It includes too much stuff inside like 3D and JavaScript and a lot of stuff taht most users don't use, basically Acrobat reader is an HTML reader that can do PDF rendering.
