If you're considering buying Amazon's new Kindle Fire HD 8.9" tablet, you might want to make that decision right away. As in, today.

That's because the online retailing giant is cutting the price of the new model $50 today only as its deal of the day. You simply add FIREHD89 as a coupoin code when you check out, and you can grab the tablet for $249 instead of $299.

Of course, there are caveats, the biggest one being that quantities are limited. You also can only purchase one Kindle Fire HD 8.9" at the discounted price. And since you need that promo code at checkout, you can't use Amazon's 1-Click ordering to make this purchase.

Will you grab a Kindle Fire HD 8.9" at this price? Let us know in the Talkback section below. And don't complain if the deal ends at some point today -- you've already been warned about the limited quantities.

  • Kindle Fire

How do you try and get a purchase

  • Well

I love the screen Size and think the tablet is cool but, if you're going to lock me into your special ad driven ecosystem then $249 is too much money.

    • No ads version still gets discount

@slickjim, if you're considering buying, you can opt for the no-ads version and still get the $50 off.

    • Uhhh....

OK, the ad-free version is only $15 more... or is $264 too much for an awesome ad-free tablet?

  • Nope.

I'll be getting an iPad 4. But I did purchase 2 of the $70 Kindle e-ink readers and 3 iPad minis as gifts.

  • Not here

Not me. Even more so now that they're pulling away even more by using their own maps instead of Google Maps.

  • Got It

I have been meaning to pull the rigger on this one for a while. My girl friend loves her 7 inch Fire and the screen is even better on this one, so this is really a "no brainer." Don't know what I will do with my original Fire now, but it does make a great secondary TiVo remote.

  • Sad to say already own a KF89

I think the KF89 is great (mine has 32 GB no LTE). Wonder why this offer? Are sales lagging expectatuions??

  • YES SIR !!!!!

Just picked one up and they had the charger marked down to 9.99, from 19.99. So, all in all, I paid almost $259 and saved $60 in getting the combo. Not bad for the best HD tablet on the market. MERRY CHRISTMAS to ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO
