I get asked by colleagues for all kinds of stats about our Web site. Nicci wants to know how many people took part in a contest. Neil wants to know how many click-throughs for a particular story. Marketing wants to know about traffic to the site.

It goes on and on. Do I get peeved? No, I let software do the job. Here's three five-star Windows utilities to help if you find yourself in the same need-to-know-Web-stats boat:

FastStats is an easy-to-use tool for compiling and analyzing data stored in log files. It spits out the info in readable lists, pie charts and graphs and presents reports in an Explorer-style browser. (Shareware/Win95-98-NT) Click for more.

NetInfo works with a TCP/IP network to return useful data. You can trace the route to a remote host over a network or retrieve either the IP address from a domain or the reverse.
