Microsoft SideWinder X5 Mouse
Microsoft's pared-down SideWinder X5 Mouse is supposed to offer PC gamers a lower-cost version of its award-winning higher-end model. Instead, it comes across as flimsy and overly stripped down. Other mice deliver better control for the same price.

HP Pavilion dv5-1004nr
At its current discounted price, we'd be willing to overlook the HP Pavilion dv5-1004nr's below average performance if the battery life wasn't so bad.

Kodak ESP 5 All-in-One - multifunction (color)
The Kodak ESP5 is an attractive full color all-in-one printer, scanner, and copier, and casual photo enthusiasts will be happy with the watered-down editing software, but hard-core users should look elsewhere for a multifunction printer. The ESP5 is too expensive and suffers from too many mechanical deficiencies for us to give it our CNET stamp of approval.
