£750m lost in telephone fraud, report

Summary: Companies brace themselves for telephone fraud in run-up to bank holiday weekend

Telephone fraud cost British businesses £750m last year, according to figures from the Telecommunications UK Fraud Forum.

Most common in telecoms fraud is illegally routing calls through a company's switchboard which has been known to cost a single business around £20,000 in a single weekend.

This coming bank holiday will cause some concern: holidays are the peak periods when companies are open to attack..
