Android apps get remote reset, encryption

Google has added three handy business features for Apps on Android as the company makes moves to entice enterprises to consider its smartphone platform.

Among the key additions:

• A new Google Apps Device Policy app to aid employees in finding a lost or stolen Android device; the app will find the phone on a map, ring it and reset the password remotely.

• Apps administrators already have the option to encrypt data on a device; this encrypted storage will now be extended to Honeycomb tablets.
• A Google Apps look-up service will make finding people at work easier.

These features are specifically designed for Google Apps users in business and education.
