Gartner published the estimates for mobile phone sales in Q3 2004. Samsung overtook Motorola in market share and for the first time took 2nd place in the list of global vendors. Nokia, Motorola and Siemens lost market share when comparing the Q3 2004 sales to Q3 2003 sales, while Samsung, LG and Sony Ericsson gained market share.
