220 mln Internet users in China, making China #1 by number of users
The number of Chinese on the Internet hit more than 220 mln as of February 2008, according to BDA China. USA had 216 mln users at the end of 2007, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. US penetration of 71% still exceeds China’s 17%. China has 1.3 bln people, compared with nearly 304 mln in the USA.
