$3.23 bln of RAID systems sold in Q2 2004

Gartner said sales of external, controller-based RAID disk storage hit $3.23 bln, up from $3.08 bln in Q2 2003. Sales of these products are likely to hit $13.8 bln in 2004, down from an estimate earlier this year of $13.9 bln. HP remained second to leader EMC in sales in Q2. HP revenues fell 8.5% TY to $532.5 mln, and its market share slipped 2.4%YTY to 16.5%.
