CEO of Ericcson is betting on HSDPA to become a ubiquitous wireless standard by 2006. In early 2006, HSDPA will most likely be introduced in smartphones as well as the second generation of PC cards. By 2007, laptops are quite likely to have HSDPA support as well. ARC Group forecasts that 3.5G subscribers (including HSDPA, TDD and proprietary technologies like Flash OFDM) will reach 9.1 million subscribers by 2008.
