39% of Americans have laptops in 2008

Laptop ownership has increased to 39% from 30% in 2006, while at the same time ownership of desktop computers has decreased slightly, from 68% in 2006 to 65% in the current survey. Half of those who are currently working own a laptop, up from 38% in 2006, according to Pew Internet Project.
