Credit and debit cards will account for 43% of all purchases in the US in 2004, but cash is still a major force worldwide. Visa estimates that cash transactions will total $1.2 trillion worldwide in 2005. Credit card purchase volume has been expanding about 15% per year for the last 5 years, and debit card purchases are growing twice as fast as credit cards.
