74.6%% of all phone lines in Africa are cell phones

Cellphones made up 74.6% of all African phone subscriptions 2004, says International Telecommunication Union. Cellphone subscriptions jumped 67% south of the Sahara in 2004, compared with 10% in cellphone-saturated Western Europe.
