88% of e-mail admins consider e-mail restoring utilities valuable

Mimosa Systems shared the results of a survey by Osterman Research designed to capture the key email management challenges facing enterprises in 2006. Over 88% of the respondents answered that the ability for users to restore their own email was valuable. Over 85% of the respondents answered it would be valuable to archive existing .PST data to a central repository. Over 84% of the respondents answered that reducing total Exchange storage by removing attachments is valuable. Over 77% of the respondents answered that it would be valuable to allow legal counsel, auditors and others to search through message storage on their own without any IT involvement. Over 85% of the respondents answered that this would be valuable to have an off-site copy of Exchange data.
