Acer has finally made its Aspire TimelineX notebook series available in the United States. With four differently-sized laptops to choose from, buyers can expect up to eight hours of battery life from each of them.

The TimelineX Series consists of the 11.6-inch 1830T, the 13.3-inch 3820T, the 14-inch 4820T and the 15.6-inch 5820T. They are designed to be ultra-portable personal computers, each measuring less than an inch thick and a weight range of 3 to 5.5 pounds.

Even though they appear to be compact, there is quite a bit packed in those brushed aluminum casings, including Intel Core i3/i5 CPU options, a 320GB or 500GB hard drive and 4GB of RAM. All four computers also share Windows 7 Home Premium, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet and a 1.3-megapixel HD webcam across the board. Pricing on these four ranges from $599.99 to $749.99.

If you're willing to spend a tad more, it's worth considering the enhanced Aspire 4820TG, starting at $799.99. This 14-inch laptop boasts an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 GPU, a Core i3 CPU, 4GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive. For $100 more, you can upgrade to a Core i5 processor and a 500GB instead.
