Acer updates tablet line with Iconia Tab A200: $329

Summary:Acer's latest Iconia tablet is much of the same, but at a more affordable price.

Acer is finally dishing out the details on the North American release of its Iconia Tab A200.

The 10.1-inch Iconia Tab A200 picks up where the A500 left off, offering a 1280 x 800 10.1-inch screen, dual-core Tegra 2 processor, a full-size USB port and a microSD slot. And it's also fairly cheap. Acer plans to sell the 8GB version for $329 and the 16GB model for $349.

While it's reasonable to expect that Android tablets released within the next few weeks would be running Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, thats not the case with the Iconia A200, which is equipped with Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Fortunately, Acer plans to offer a free upgrade to the latest Android version come February.

As for the release date itself, expect the device on January 15th.
