Software maker Open Text, a specialist in content management products, announced on Wednesday a new add-on for Adobe System's Acrobat software. The new Livelink Review Manger will work with Acrobat, Adobe's collection of tools for creating files in its Portable Document Format (PDF). It's meant to help companies track changes to accounting statements, regulatory filings and other documents that are subject to strict governmental oversight.

Livelink Review Manager allows real-time collaboration on documents, lets document creators set security controls that limit access and modification permission, and includes audit tools that provide a complete record of a document's history. Open Text plans to release the product, which works with version 5.0.5 and higher of Acrobat, later this month.
