Adobe names new COO
in brief Adobe Systems announces its new president and chief operating officer.
Adobe Systems this week announced the creation of new position of president and chief operating officer, promoting Shantanu Narayen to the new post. Narayen will report to CEO Bruce Chizen
and will look after the company's product engineering, marketing and
sales. Previously, was the executive vice president in charge of global
products.
"Under his leadership, Adobe has defined and implemented the product and marketing strategies that are driving our current growth. As Adobe continues expanding into the enterprise and other new market areas, I will increase my focus on the longer-term strategies that will fuel the company's future growth," Chizen said in a statement. Prior to joining Adobe in 1998, Narayen co-founded digital photo-sharing software start-up Pictra and had stints at Silicon Graphics Inc. and Apple Computer.
