AdSense coming to Current TV?

The article I wrote yesterday about AdSense for TV got David Utter from Web Pro News wondering about the possibility of Google testing the waters on Current TV.  It makes a lot of sense since Google will likely want to expand into a small television network to try things out before they put all their eggs in one basket.

Al Gore, who was a senior advisor to Google and recipient of some cash that Eric Schmidt raised during the last presidential campaign, is behind Current TV -- making this a perfect test bed for their forray into television advertising.

As it is, Google airs a "program" (Google Current) every half hour on the network that explains the topic of specific searches people are doing on Google.  These episodes are usually quite entertaining and can also be seen on Google Video.

I believe David Utter has made an accurate prediction, and am looking forward to seeing how targeted advertisements on television could work.  Will it be more of an integrated web/tv interface like was suggested in a research paper written by Googlers, or will they be more traditional?  We will see!
