AIM Lifestream integrates social web, but not instant messaging

AOL launched it's new Lifestream application today, and I'm impressed. But I still won't use it because it doesn't integrate the full IM experience better than other products like Adium, Digsby or even Trillian.

I have not downloaded the actual app, but here is a peek at the web interface:

You can add social networks to your lifestream, but not other IM accounts.

One feature that is kinda cool is the ability to comment on a post via Facebook Connect.

I think there is a small bug though because the actual comment doesn't show up on my lifestream page.

Hopefully AOL realizes that they need to integrate other IM clients. The iPhone app looks pretty cool too. Check out Rafe's post on CNET for more info.
