All wireless work and no play makes Jack a dull boy

CNN's current top headline story (Living in a wireless world: Too much of a good thing?) explores the downside of being wirelessly tethered to our offices on a 24/7 basis.  In the early-90's when I worked for PC Week (now eWeek), I wrote a similar story (this was pre-Web so I can't link) about how the far less sophisticated wireless devices of that era were sucking up a significant amount of our personal time.  To this date, very few articles, stories, or blogs that I've written over the years have generated the the flood of e-mails that that one did and none overwhelmed me with a tone of desperation from people seeking to reclaim their lives (or those of their loved ones).
