Amazon S3: "Elevated error rates"

Amazon Web Services is currently is experiencing "elevated error rates," according to the company's status reporting dashboard.

When Amazon web services went down last February, unhappy users complained about both the outage and Amazon's lack of responsiveness. This time, the company has updated status and repair progress on a regular basis.

Take a look at this detail screen taken from the dashboard:

Customers hate outages, but accurate and responsive status reporting does help the ease the pain. Kudos to Amazon for learning from past mistakes.
