Amazon is making its Kindle electronic book service more accessible by launching a new free app for Windows PCs. The new app will let users download and read ebooks on their computer, and, like the iPhone app, it will sync with Kindle readers.

The app makes use of Windows 7's touch-control features, but is also compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista machines. Kindle apps for Mac and BlackBerry are expected to follow. Read the full story on the new Kindle app at CNET UK.
