Amazon Windowshop for the iPad has debuted in the iTunes App Store, which has been defined as a "complete rewrite" of the online retail store.

Designed specifically for this device with its multi-touch interface, the Amazon Windowshop is trying to take online shopping to a whole new level. Users can zoom into product images closer, share items via e-mail or social networking sites (i.e. Facebook and Twitter), and discover more products within a category and its subcategories thanks to the touch-sensitive columns.

Naturally, many of the familiar aspects of Amazon are still there, such as wish lists, Amazon Prime information and recommended products based your purchases and searches.

Even if this does make online shopping a bit easier, it's probably also too tempting now that you can buy something with one tap of your finger.

The Amazon Windowshop app is free and available to download now. It only requires iOS 3.2 or later.
