Amazon is planning to update its Kindle line in an announcement set for next week, according to a tweet on Monday from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Bezos teased an 'all new, top of the line Kindle' but didn't provide any specifics on what the new e-reader or tablet may have.

The eighth-generation Kindle is set to be follow-up to the Kindle Voyage. It's not clear if the new Kindle product will ship next week alongside the announcement or if we will have to wait.

We have reached out to Amazon for more information.

On Monday, Amazon also began heavily discounting its current line of Kindles. The discount is only available for Amazon Prime members, who can get a Kindle for $50, a Kindle Paperwhite for $90, and the Kindle Voyage for $150.
