Andy Rubin: More than 300,000 Android phones activated daily

Sales of Android-based smartphones aren't slowing down in the slightest, according to Andy Rubin, Google's VP of Engineering.

Rubin (who apparently doesn't tweet that often) recently boasted on his Twitter account that "there are over 300,000 Android phones activated each day" now.

Compare that to August of last year when CEO Eric Schmidt announced that approximately 200,000 Android smarpthones were being sold each day.

It was obvious even before Rubin's tweet that Android is certainly on a roll. With Gingerbread rolling out, 2011 is surely going to be an exciting year for the Goog.
