Apple has announced the dates for Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2011 - Monday, June 6 through Friday, June 10.

Why no iPhone 5? Well, partly it's down to the rumors I'm hearing (all building up to give the picture that there's no iPhone 4GS/5 coming this summer), but in the press release announcing WWDC 2011 Apple seems to be actively shifting the focus away from iPhone and back onto the software:

"At this year's conference we are going to unveil the future of iOS and Mac OS," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. "If you are an iOS or Mac OS X software developer, this is the event that you do not want to miss."

So, Mac OS X 'Lion' is going to be a yes, iOS 5 preview is also a yes, but I'm not holding out any hopes for new iPhone hardware announcements at WWDC this year.
