Apple said Thursday that it has sold more than 5 billion songs via iTunes.

The company also added that iTunes is selling or renting 50,000 movies a day (statement).

While those numbers are just swell for those keeping track at home, I'd love to know the rental vs. purchase movie split. And more importantly how many of these titles are used on Apple TV, which is still a bit of a mystery product from Apple?

Nevertheless, 5 billion is a massive number and the 50,000 movies a day isn't too shabby either.
