The Apple online store is down as of this morning and speculation is beginning to swirl. 

The Interweb is all cranked up about an apparent "slip up" at Web site and the leak of details of a Core 2 Duo-powered MacBook. SpyMac orginally broke the story that UK online Apple retailer is taking pre-orders for a Core 2 Duo MacBook. According to their site, the Core 2 Duo-powered MacBook will be available on 13 November 2006.

Although it's inevitable that the consumer MacBook will inherit the Core 2 Duo chip from it's big brother, the MacBook Pro, there is a chance that the product page is more of a case of wishful thinking than actual inside knowledge. After all, if it were real, won't Apple have already "released the hounds" and forced them to take the page down?
