Apple's outta iPads!

Apple will begin shipping iPads on April 3rd ... but only to those who had the foresight to preorder. If you didn't think that you'd need to preorder, then you might not get your hands on an iPad until April 12th.

Here's the state of play at the online Apple Store:

A similar situation exists in retail stores too.

Yeah, if you wanted an iPad, you shoulda reserved one. Coulda, shoulda, woulda ...

No stores contacted have any iPads that have not been pre-ordered or reserved. One tipsters has told me though that reserved iPads will only be held by the store until 3.00 PM on Saturday, so if you're really interested it might be worth your while hanging around your favorite bricks'n'mortar Apple Store around this time.

Remember, this first batch of iPads are WiFi only models and that the WiFi + 3G models go on sale later this month.
