Deutsche Bank provides a real-time widget for keeping track of greenhouse gas emissions.

Can't make it to New York City to view Deutsche Bank's real-time Carbon Counter? The investment bank has released a downloadable widget this week that you can add to a PC desktop or to a Web site. Yes, it is part of the onslaught of publicity related to the Copenhagen climate change talks.

The Carbon Counter keeps track of greenhouse gas emissions and is part of Deutsche Bank's campaign to build awareness of the impact of climate change. The calculations are based on measurements taken by scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since the counter's launch in June 2009, the amount of greenhouse gases has increased by 7.2 billion metric tons.
