Artist re-imagines flight with amphibious planes

Artist and engineer Natalie Jermijenko has a vision to transform the aircraft industry. Jermijenko says the US Airways splash-landing in New York's Hudson River demonstrated that there's an infrastructure of water resources for amphibious planes. Her exhibition, xAirport, shows how urban wetlands, marshes, and swamps could one day function as both biodiversity hot spots and as "wetlanding" strips.
