Asus is heart touching no more

Asus has, I am sad to report, abandoned its motto, "Rock Solid. Heart Touching".

Asus has, I am sad to report, abandoned its motto, "Rock Solid. Heart Touching". At CeBIT this year, the PC manufacturer unveiled the far less evocative "Inspiring Innovation. Persistent Perfection". Let's see how the rest of the press conference goes.

Stirring music… it must be a video. Here we go: 3056 awards won in 2008 (I see our Editor's Choice logo in there)! Many green milestones! Asus laptops thriving in jungles, helicopters and Antarctica!

Jonney Shih, Asus' chairman. It appears that Asus is "the world's most admired leading enterprise in the new digital era"… OK, this is clearly going to go on for a while, so I'll update this post when something useful comes along…

UPDATE: Blimey, Eee no longer stands for "Easy to learn, Easy to work, Easy to play"! It's now "Easy, Excellent and Exciting". Thank you Asus, your motto quality returns!

UPDATE 2: Shih has just shown off the UX notebook, which has a "frameless" LED screen. He also introduced the Eee PC Seashell 1008HA ("We got the design idea from a seashell"), which is basically a rather slim new Eee PC, weighing 1kg, with a 92-percent-size keyboard and multitouch keypad. Its swooning tagline is "When pearlescent beauty meets versatility".

Oddly, the 1008HA seems to have a sort of skin overlaying XP, offering what Shih calls "intuition shortcuts" to various applications. Also included is the Eee Arena, "the best content container for Eee Users".

OK, my laptop battery's dying. But more soon.

UPDATE 3: There was more. Here it is.
