Asus is set to introduce a follow up to its Zenbook Infinity ultrabook at Computex 2013 in Taipei, Taiwan next month.
While Asus isn't quite ready to spill all the details on the next generation Zenbook Infinity it did confirm that the new device will have a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen with "Native Damage Resistance" on the outer lid and keyboard surround.
Asus said this provides three times the scratch resistance of Gorilla Glass 2 and a 40 percent reduction in the number of highly visible scratches, plus a 40 percent improvement in 'retained strength' if a deep scratch does occur.
Few other details about the device are known right now, but Asus said it will retain its concentric circle design on the cover.
Asus also said the device, at 15.5mm, was 14 percent thinner than the "previous generation" Zenbook, but this is only taken in comparison to the UX31, which uses a traditional hard drive instead of an SSD. Other members of the Zenbook family already uses chassis as thin as 9mm.
