ASX resumes trade citing vendor dramas

The Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) is set to reopen this afternoon after a tumultuous morning that saw markets close due to technical faults.

ASX Trade markets have begun rolling re-opens this afternoon after what it calls a "communications issue" with a vendor.

On its System Status page, the ASX Group said it had worked hard with the vendor to correct the issue.

The Australian IT this afternoon reported that the problem could be traced back to an issue with the systems that link market participants to the ASX trading system.

ZDNet Australia contacted the group for comment on the root cause of the issue, but comment hadn't been received at the time of publication.

The outage threw the market into turmoil this morning with around 6700 trades put under review.

According to the System Status page, all markets are set to reopen by 2:10pm AEDST.
