AT&T, the No. 1 U.S. long-distance telephone company, on Tuesday said it agreed to resell AT&T Wireless Services offerings in a move to match communications packages offered by the Baby Bells and other rivals.

AT&T will offer the combined long-distance and wireless calling plan in certain markets this summer. The company said the specific markets and rates have yet to be determined. The AT&T Wireless agreement is the first of several non-exclusive deals AT&T is pursuing to package communications, entertainment and electronic commerce services. By expanding its mix of services, AT&T hopes to offset shrinking revenue in its core residential long-distance telephone business.
