Auspex Systems, Inc., a technology provider in Network Attached Storage (NAS), has moved its regional headquarters from Japan to Singapore.

The move represents a shift from Auspex's former Japan-centric network and is part of a global strategic initiative to tap the burgeoning storage marketplace in Asia.

In line with the move, Auspex has appointed four industry veterans at the helm of its Asia Pacific headquarters.

The new appointments are:
-Mr. Thomas S. Garofalo as Vice President and General Manager;
-Mr. Michael Smith as Regional Service Director;
-Ms. Ng Hau Yee as Regional Finance & Administration Director; and
-Mr. Gurcharan Singh as Director of Sales, South Asia.

Thomas Garofalo, Vice President and General Manager of Auspex Asia Pacific, will be responsible for building up Auspex’s market presence and distributor network in the region.

“We are very optimistic about Auspex’s potential in Asia Pacific. Our Network Attached Storage servers are well received in all of the major cities in Asia and some of our key customers include major telcos and ISPs in Japan and Korea. To increase our visibility in the region, we will aggressively set up distributorships across Asia,” said Garofalo.

Auspex is a NAS server provider focused on enterprise-level (multi-terabyte) solutions and services.

Its customers include businesses from various industries, encompassing the semiconductor, software development, oil and gas exploration, automotive, aerospace, communications, publishing, entertainment, animation, and financial services industries.
