Autism99 conference goes online

The world's first online disability conference has gone live -- Autism99 will be the first global disability conference to take place solely on the Internet.

Autism99 makes extensive use of Macromedia's Flash streaming multimedia to get the message across to its global audience. Dr Mark Smith, Applications Director of site designer RMR Design said: "The Internet has received more than its fair share of bad press with regards to content. We hope that this project will show the Internet in a better light, the good that it can do."

Autism99 hopes to reach parents who would not normally have the opportunity to visit a conference. Conference papers will be released on 2 November but people who register now will receive information on the disorder as well as a monthly email news letter.
