-- TEXT -- New suite of products aims to provide one of the industry's most reliable, feature-rich IP solutions to the widest range of enterprise customers.

HONG KONG - Avaya, a provider of communications systems for enterprises, introduced six new products in Asia Pacific to raise the benchmark for delivering enterprise-class IP solutions currently available.

The six new products are dubbed Avaya Enterprise Class IP Solutions (or ECLIPS products) and are being showcased at ITU Telecom Asia 2000 in Hong Kong.

The products are intended for enterprise customers ranging from startups to large multinational corporations and are now commercially available throughout the Asia Pacific region.

"Avaya ECLIPS products give customers the confidence to stake their enterprises on our IP solutions," said Mark Leigh, president of Avaya Asia Pacific.

"Avaya is one of the few companies in the industry that delivers 100 percent of PBX features over an IP infrastructure - to any customer, of any size, in any location.

Leigh also said that the products carry on the quality, reliability and high level of interoperability associated with the company's existing offers to the industry.

The products introduced include:

  • Avaya IP600 Internet Protocol Communications Server - a 19-inch rack-mounted, 100 percent IP solution.
  • Avaya R300 Remote Office Communicator - extends the Avaya IP Communications Servers' features and applications to remote locations over the WAN with central administration, enabling companies to extend their customer contact centers, for example, to smaller branch offices.
  • Avaya DEFINITY IP Solutions software - provides improved traffic handling, superior voice quality over packet facilities, and advanced support for Avaya IP Telephones and Softphone;
  • Avaya Directory Gateway - web access tool for streamlined workflow and information management in a converged voice/data environment;
  • Avaya IP Telephones - superior sound quality and easy upgrades through downloadable firmware
  • second-generation Avaya IP Softphone with support for seven languages.
