Barksdale and Dell argue MS cons, pros

Netscape Communications Corp. Chairman Jim Barksdale told the Senate Judiciary Committee this morning that letting Microsoft Corp. continue its current business practices threatens the industry. "We're letting the tail wag the dog," Barksdale said, referring to the current movie about spin doctors who try to scam both Washington insiders and U.S. citizens.

Meanwhile, Microsoft supporter Michael Dell -- founder of Dell Computer Corp. said standards dictated by Microsoft have helped his company successfully compete in the PC market.
