Good news Android tablet owners who also happen to like BBC programming. The BBC iPlayer app will also be available to you!
It was reported yesterday that BBC iPlayer would be coming to iPads in the United Kingdom by Thursday, with the U.S. iTunes Store to receive the app in June. Now the Beeb has confirmed that it would be available for tablets running Android 2.2 (Froyo) or higher.
Note that Flash Player 10.1 is needed, and just like with the iPad version, playback is only available via Wi-Fi connections. However, simple browsing is allowed over 3G. In all likelihood, this should be the same case for Android users when the BBC iPlayer app drops in America this summer. Just don't forget about that subscription fee.
