Police in Belize are looking for the founder of the software company McAfee to question him about the death of another US citizen, his neighbour in an island town on the Caribbean.
Spokesman Raphael Martinez said that John McAfee was the neighbour of 52-year-old Gregory Viant Faull.
Faull was found with a gunshot wound to his head inside his home north of San Pedro, a town on the island of Ambergris Caye.
Martinez said that other neighbours have been questioned, but that McAfee has not been home. McAfee could not be reached for comment by The Associated Press.
Martinez said on Monday that Faull's computer and phone are missing, but that there were no signs of a forced entry. The housekeeper discovered the body on Sunday and called the police.
Gizmodo is reporting that the two men had experienced a stormy relationship. Faull reportedly filed a formal complaint against McAfee last week, stating that McAfee had exhibited "roguish behaviour."
This isn't McAfee's first encounter with the Belizean authorities; earlier this year, the country's Gang Suppression Unit conducted a raid on McAfee's home and found a cache of guns. The police took samples of an alleged "antibiotic" that had been created without an antibiotic-manufacturing licence.
