German media conglomerate Bertelsmann has snapped up the remnants of failed entertainment e-tailer Boxman.

The media giant paid SKr2.5m (£179,800) for all of Boxman's assets outside the UK. Bertelsmann originally only wanted to gain access to Boxman's Swedish customers to redirect them to its own BOL.com site. The Swedish liquidator of the failed firm, however, refused to unbundle a package which included customer and product databases, domain names and trademarks in Germany, France, the Netherlands and Scandinavia, forcing Bertelsmann to buy the job lot.
