Best Buy has launched a massive sale in the UK as it prepares to shutter all its large stores by 15 January 2012.

The sale, which started in the company's UK stores at 9:00am on Monday, follows the company's decision to close its 11 main UK stores and shift employees to around 400 smaller 'Wireless World' stores.

The sale will run "until everything's gone," a Best Buy spokeswoman told ZDNet UK on Monday. "Lots of things are selling out."

Discounts of 50 percent off the lowest marked price are available for DVDs, Blu-Rays and CDs; ten percent for dishwashers, televisions and other large items; 20 percent for microwaves, home entertainment systems and imaging accessories; and 25 percent off products like home phones, software and electrical components.

Customers need to enter the code "BBY" at the checkout to receive the discounts. The sale is also available through Best Buy's UK website.
