BlackBerry Desktop Manager coming to Mac in September (with pics!)

Research in Motion has announced that it will make its BlackBerry Desktop Manager available for Mac starting this September.The move marks the next logical step after RIM expanded support for BlackBerry Media Sync to include Mac users in December.

Research in Motion has announced that it will make its BlackBerry Desktop Manager available for Mac starting this September.

The move marks the next logical step after RIM expanded support for BlackBerry Media Sync to include Mac users in December.

The manager will provide capabilities including the ability to sync to iTunes (playlists, calendars, contacts, notes, tasks), add and remove applications, perform firmware updates, create backups (and restore from them), automatically schedule backups with optional encryption, and manage multiple BlackBerry devices at the same time.

The manager will support Mac OS X 10.5.5 and above.
