Telstra's BlackBerry network outage was fixed last night and normal service should have returned this morning, company spokesperson Rod Bruem said.

A fix was in place at 7pm, Bruem told ZDNet Australia . However, the solution came 33 hours after the incident occured.

All data on Telstra's BlackBerry network "travels" to its manufacturer Research In Motion in Canada before it's routed to Australia. The problem began when primary and secondary links to the North American country were disrupted.

The breakdown meant Telstra BlackBerry customers, including many businesses, were unable to receive messages until many hours later.

Bruem said Telstra would soon decide whether customers would be given a rebate for the problems of the last two days.
